Movement to Uganda and studies.
Sachi Basaki, born on April 27, 1995, is a talented gospel singer and songwriter who grew up in a family of five rooted in strong Christian values. His early years were marked by the 2003 civil war in Bunia, Ituri (DR Congo), which forced his family to seek refuge. After six years of displacement, they eventually resettled in Uganda.
Sachi and his family found a new home in Kampala, where he continued his education. He attended Kampala Secondary School and later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Lawrence University.
Musical Journey.
In 2013, Sachi Basaki joined a youth music group called Cooper & G-Way, which operated under the Robert Kayanja Ministries. This group was renowned for mentoring aspiring gospel musicians, focusing on vocal excellence, high-quality production, and community outreach. Being a part of Cooper & G-Way had a transformative impact on Sachi, providing him with invaluable exposure and experience across various platforms.
The group fostered his musical and spiritual growth, as it was firmly grounded in prayer and the teachings of the Word of God. During his time with G-Way, Sachi contributed to several songs, including “Big God,” “Mapamboli,” and “Hallelujah,” among others. The opportunities he received from G-Way enabled him to perform at Robert Kayanja Ministries, which ultimately became his church home.
The Sachi Now.
Sachi Basaki continues to serve faithfully as a worship pastor at his home church. He is also one of the lead vocalists in Riot Worship, a youth ministry of the Robert Kayanja ministries, The Righteous Invasion of Truth (RIOT). Throughout his time with Riot Worship, Sachi has contributed to several songs.
In February 2024, Sachi released his latest album, Praise in Advance, featuring 12 tracks. The official album concert is scheduled for December 1st of the same year.
Sachi does a lot of school ministry, where he actively engages with young people to inspire and guide them. He emphasizes the importance of living a consecrated life, encouraging students to commit themselves fully to God from a young age. Sachi also seeks to dispel the misconception that living a Christian life is restrictive or burdensome. He shows the youth how a life rooted in Jesus can be both fulfilling and enjoyable, highlighting that choosing to follow Christ comes with no disadvantages or regrets, but instead leads to a life of joy, purpose, and meaning.
